LPs / Albums

Last night I unearthed my LPs from their box and decided that I'd try to sell them.  There seems to be no point at all in keeping them for ever, they're heavy and need to be kept straight and upright so that they don't warp, and I'm not about to buy a turntable to play them on even... even if I still liked them all.

This is one of them, bought in 1968 when I was still at school.  Before I take them to a place in town that I've been told about I must have a look on the internet to check that none are worth a small fortune... which I doubt, but you never know.

I got rid of all of ours when I left S.Africa. Quite sad, as I would love to listen to them occasionally but no we have no turn table either! I even had some 78's!!! Diane

I used to have some 78s too, mostly Gracie Fields and also Glen Miller.

I sold mine and wish i'd checked prices first. i did it at car boot sales and there are lots of people who collect old LPs - don't make the mistake I did by imagining that just because you want rid of them that noone else will want them.
well worth the work of doing some research. good luck1

Do you have a PO near you? If you do, you could save yourself the research and put them on Ebay - bids from collectors will make sure you get a good price for any that are worth anything.

Yes the post office is 20 mins walk up the road, so not too bad. Last night I had a good look on the net and think that Ebay is definitely the way forward as mine are not in mint condition. Just got to sort out a paypal account and take photos.
